In the 1700’s the actual town of Haymarket was called “The Crossroads”. This was based on the intersection of the Old Carolina Road and the North branch of the Dumfries road. The Old Carolina road was originally an Iroquois hunting path and the Dumfries road was a long-standing trade route between the Potomac and the Shenandoah Valley prior to the early 1700’s. It is still seen as a crossroads due to its location between the rural areas of the Shenandoah Valley and the Washington, DC, metropolitan area. We see our mission as a critical “crossroads” for making an impact for Christ in Prince William County.
